Imagine for a second reading the news that Israel, in a cold-bloodied strike murdered David Attenborough or Gerald Durrell, the creator of the Wildlife Conservation Trust which work saved many species from extinction. Wouldn’t that get you boiling with anger?!

The news from Marwa Osman’s TG channel that you are about to read is precisely of that magnitude!

They knew exactly who Mona Khalil was.

They knew the bright orange house in Mansouri, south Lebanon. They knew it was not a military site, not a command center, not a battlefield position. It was one of the most recognisable symbols of environmental conservation on Lebanon’s southern coast; a sanctuary dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles and preserving life.

Mona spent her years defending the most vulnerable creatures of the Mediterranean, teaching generations that every life matters, that nature is not a casualty to be discarded, and that humanity has a duty to protect what cannot protect itself.

Yet the same orange house that stood as a beacon of conservation became a target for terrorist Israel.

This was an assault on a woman whose life’s work was devoted to safeguarding life itself. A woman known internationally for her environmental activism, whose name had become synonymous with the protection of Lebanon’s coastline and its endangered sea turtles.

The murder of Mona Khalil sends a chilling message: even those whose only weapon is compassion, whose only mission is preservation, are not spared.

Ukrainian USA-backed Nazis have committed another act of terrorism, attacking a bus with Belorussian children in Russia’s Bryansk Region

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s statement on the attack by Ukrainian militants on a bus carrying Belarusian children in Russia’s Bryansk Region

On June 17, the Nazi regime in Kiev committed yet another monstrous crime.

On the A-240 highway in the Pochep District of Russia’s Bryansk Region, Ukrainian drones equipped with shrapnel attacked a civilian bus carrying children from sports schools in the Belarusian cities of Gomel and Rechitsa to Gelendzhik for vacation.

There were 44 people on board, including 28 children. The woman accompanying the minors was killed. Eight people, including six young athletes, were injured.

All those injured were promptly taken to the Bryansk Regional Hospital, where they are receiving medical assistance. One man and two children are in serious condition. The remaining passengers will be returned home shortly.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has classified this crime as a terrorist act and opened a criminal case. Work is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of this crime and identify those involved. We are confident that all perpetrators will be brought to justice.

We express our deep condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to all those injured.

We are in direct contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Embassy of the of Belarus in Moscow.

We stand in solidarity with our Belarusian friends and are ready to provide them with the necessary assistance.

❗️ We strongly condemn this vile crime by the Zelensky regime, which, despite its hypocritical claims of allegedly being committed to protecting children, deliberately puts them in danger and, without hesitation – as was the case in Starobelsk – makes them the target of planned AFU strikes.

We call on international structures, national governments and the global public to give an honest assessment of the Zelensky regime’s criminal acts and strongly condemn this terrorist attack.

Silence will mean approval of this crime and encouragement for Kiev terrorists to commit new bloody atrocities.

A criminal case under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (act of terrorism) has been opened into the drone attack carried out by Ukrainian militants in Russia’s Bryansk Region against a passenger bus carrying children from the Republic of Belarus.

According to the investigation, on June 17, Ukrainian armed groups attacked a double-decker bus belonging to Children’s and Youth Sports School No.2 of the city of Rechitsa (Belarus) with a strike UAV on the A240 highway in Russia’s Bryansk Region.

The vehicle was traveling from the Republic of Belarus along the Gomel – Gelendzhik route. There were 44 passengers on board, including 28 child athletes. All of them were heading for vacation.

According to preliminary information, a woman, a Belarusian citizen, was killed. Seven people, including five children, were injured and hospitalised. Information on the victims is being clarified.

Russia’s Investigative Committee is establishing the details of the crime and identifying the specific individuals involved.

7 killed in a US-NATO (proxy: Ukraine) terrorist attack on a passenger bus on the way to Crimea

Today, a Ukrainian suicide drone attacked a passenger bus in the city of Yenakiieve (DPR) that was heading from Moscow to Simferopol.

Those who turn civilians into targets must know: these crimes have no statute of limitations and cannot be hidden behind political slogans or propaganda. Every incident will be subject to legal assessment, and every perpetrator will face the punishment they deserve.

▪️ On the night of May 22, the Nazi regime carried out a heinous terrorist attack (https://t.me/MFARussia/30072)on the academic building and dormitory of the college of Lugansk State Pedagogical University in Starobelsk, LPR, using 16 UAVs, 4 of them heavy, in three waves.

The terrorist attack claimed 21 young lives. Just a week ago, they were students with dreams, plans and a future. Today, all that remains are photographs, memories and unbearable grief.

Russian Embassy to the UK comment on British media’s selective reporting of the Ukrainian strike on Starobelsk

❌ A week on from the strike on Starobelsk, British [including, state-owned!] media outlets have failed to report objectively or professionally on the terrorist attack carried out by the Kiev regime against a student dormitory of the Luhansk State Pedagogical University.

To recall, 21 people were killed and 44 injured. The majority of the victims were aged between 15 and 22.

Particular attention should be drawn to the BBC’s hypocritical stance. Having declined to join the Russian Foreign Ministry’s press trip to the site of the tragedy, the broadcaster nevertheless published an investigative article on the subject.

However, this piece adds nothing of substance, as it differs little from the standard tenets of Western propaganda. It either ignores the incident altogether or mentions it only in passing, as something insignificant. Phrases such as “not able to independently verify what happened”, “according to the Russian side”, and “what Moscow calls a Ukrainian strike” imply complicity.

British media are afraid to tell the truth: it is precisely this Ukraine – one that has been killing children since 2014 – that enjoys London’s “unwavering support”. Against this backdrop, any statement by the UK authorities in defence of children’s rights amounts to hypocrisy and manipulation.

☝️ British correspondents are keen to amplify the Ukrainian narrative about thousands of minors allegedly deported by Russia, yet remain silent when Ukrainian drones kill schoolchildren in their sleep.

This once again lays bare the true face of British media, which bear their share of responsibility for the continuation of the conflict.

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, participated in the session “Disinformation and Manipulation as a Tool of Hybrid War Against the Global Majority for the Preservation of Hegemony” as part of the International Security Forum.

She spoke about the West’s manipulations using the examples of the provocation in Bucha and its prototype in 1944 (Nemmersdorf) in contrast with the terrorist attack by the Kiev regime in Starobelsk. Maria Vladimirovna, I would like to hear your opinion on this problem. How necessary is a consolidated reaction of countries to information leaks and attacks? What can be done? Where are we now? Good afternoon, colleagues. Today we started discussing this topic in the first half of the day when we discussed the problem of neocolonialism. As a rule, we consider the problem of information and fake news separately. Why? Because this is a boundless ocean of problems. In fact, disinformation, fake news, unscrupulous journalism – or, best to say, quasi-journalism, all manipulations in the information environment have specific goals and tasks. And they are formulated very simply: “with the help of information, to subordinate those who need to be robbed, who need to be deceived, who need to be manipulated”.

Within the framework of the whole world, geopolitically, this is a constant confrontation of those who call themselves the flowering garden, as the high representative on foreign policy of the European Union, Borrell, said, and the wild jungles, as he called the rest of the world.

The narrow group of countries, and in the broadest sense of the word “narrow” – both from the point of view of their number and their worldview, because this approach is based on one thesis: “Take away, rob, subordinate, deceive, manipulate”. They are constantly fighting for domination in the world, using all the opportunities for this.

It was largely always like this, but it was the 20th century that demonstrated new technological capabilities and made it possible to fight for domination over others also with the help of information tools.

Not only weapons, not only weapons of mass destruction, not only nuclear weapons – I am now dividing these things, because weapons of mass destruction can be non-nuclear weapons. Not only trade wars, illegitimate sanctions can be and are the instrument of the unscrupulous regimes, as a tool to subjugate other states and peoples to their will. But, of course, also information.

We see it constantly, live. Unfortunately, this topic and this problem will only worsen with the mass introduction of artificial intelligence and digitalisation elements into life. Why? Because, again, unfortunately, technology and resources are concentrated – I can’t say in one hand – but they are trying to be appropriated by all the same countries, again – the collective Western minority – which have used various types of resources for their own hegemony or defending the myth of their own domination.

Now they will use new tools, they are already using artificial intelligence and digitalisation. But I think you know this theoretical part very well, and I think my colleagues will continue to develop it today.

I want to give you a specific example how in these very days we observe the use of all of the technological – both traditional and new – capabilities for their unscrupulous use in the context of information confrontation. I will show two situations as an example. They are related to the crisis that takes place around Ukraine, in Ukraine.

Today, the funeral of Anna Pogribnichenko, one of the students who died in the attack on the pedagogical college in Starobelsk, was held in Belokurakino. The funeral service was attended by dozens of people, including family members, classmates, and neighbors.

“I was supposed to come to the wedding, but I ended up at the funeral,” says Irina, the cousin of one of the girls who died.

Anna, who was only 19 years old, had dreamed of becoming a teacher. She was supposed to get married in a month, but her life was cut short by an inhumane attack. When the drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the college, Anna ran outside in an attempt to escape, but a second drone arrived at the same time. She died on the spot, burned alive. Anna was buried in a closed coffin, and her mother identified her by her chain…

The Armed Forces of Ukraine bombed the educational building and dormitory of the Starobilsk College.

After the drone attack — they hit it with precision, in three waves — everything was destroyed. 21 students were killed, and more than 40 were injured.

Black crude now clings to the shoreline of Shidvar Island – an uninhabited island in the Persian Gulf known for picturesque beaches and blue waters – like a second skin.

Days after US-Israeli military aggression targeted Iran’s civilian oil infrastructure on Lavan Island last month, the pale coral beaches of this protected Persian Gulf sanctuary were swallowed by a continuous band of tar as petroleum pollutants spread across its waters.

What was once an undisturbed crescent of white sand has been transformed into an oily black seam, raising urgent questions about the fate of the hawksbill turtles, migratory seabirds, and coral formations that make Shidvar one of the most ecologically sensitive islands in Iranian waters.

On this tiny, uninhabited refuge – known locally as Maro – there is still no complete accounting of what has happened beneath that black sheen.

Whether nesting turtles managed to crawl ashore to lay their eggs, whether hatchlings suffocated beneath contaminated sand, whether breeding colonies of terns abandoned their nesting grounds, or how much of Iran’s only protected coral reef ecosystem has already absorbed irreversible toxic damage – nothing is clear yet.

What is visible, however, is enough to establish one fact with brutal clarity: the consequences of the US-Israeli war of aggression did not stop at burning fuel depots and damaged refinery channels. They moved outward with the tide.

The contamination traces back to the April 8 attack on the Lavan refinery complex, one of Iran’s major civilian petroleum facilities in the Persian Gulf. Iranian officials say the strike took place even after a ceasefire had been declared, rupturing sections of oil transfer infrastructure and allowing petroleum materials to escape into adjacent marine waters.

Remembering the Khatyn Massacre of March 22, 1943

83 years ago, the peaceful Soviet Belarusian village of Khatyn was wiped out – nearly all of the inhabitants were burned alive and shot by the SS punitive unit Dirlewanger (Sonderkommando Dirlewanger) and the 118th Ukrainian Police Battalion.

Khatyn – a small village of just 26 households – was located 54 kilometres northwest of Minsk. (BATS note: A short node about the name of the village. There is no sound “k” in Khatyn – the first sound is “h” as in “he, home”.)

On March 22, 1943, Belarusian partisans intercepted a Nazi motor convoy in the area, inflicting casualties, including killing a German officer. In retaliation, the Hitlerites encircled Khatyn and decided to unleash their fury on defenceless civilians – women, the elderly and children.

All residents – 149 people, including 75 children – were forced into a wooden barn, locked inside and set ablaze. Those who, in desperation, tried to escape were ruthlessly shot at point-blank range.

✍️ From the interrogation record of Ostap Knap, a collaborator from the 118th Ukrainian Police Battalion, a native of the Lvov region (31 May 1986):

“The roof was thatched and immediately caught fire. Screams of horror rose from the barn as those trapped inside, facing certain death, began forcing the door. The policemen surrounding the site opened fire on them”.

Only six people managed to escape the inferno alive – five children and one adult, 56-year-old blacksmith Iosif Kaminsky. He regained consciousness late at night after the perpetrators had left the burnt village. Among the bodies of his fellow villagers, he found his son Adam, who died from his wounds in his father’s arms…

❗️ The atrocities in Khatyn were carried out by the 118th Ukrainian Police Battalion, formed in October 1942 in Kiev largely from Ukrainian nationalists and members of the Organisation of Ukrainian nationalists. Earlier, its members took part in mass executions of Jews at Babi Yar. The battalion was commanded by Konstantin Smovsky, born in the Poltava Governorate, who later fled to the US, where he died in 1960. The Supreme court of Belarus has found him guilty of genocide.

In 1969, one of Belarus’s most revered memorial sites – the Khatyn Memorial Complex – was opened on the site of the destroyed village, a silent witness to the monstrous crimes of Nazism. At its centre stands a six-metre bronze sculpture, The Unconquered Man, depicting Iosif Kaminsky carrying his dead son in his arms. Each of the 26 burned homes is marked by a symbolic log structure with an obelisk in the shape of a chimney, bearing the names of those who perished and a bell that tolls every hour.

The tragedy of Khatyn has become a symbol of the inhuman cruelty of Nazism – a living reminder of hundreds of annihilated villages and thousands of innocent civilians of the Soviet Union whose lives were shattered by Nazi perpetrators and their accomplices – a genocide of the Soviet people. Our duty is to ensure that these crimes, which have no statute of limitations, are never forgotten.

On April 19, by Presidential Decree, Russia established the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People during the Great Patriotic War. According to even the most conservative estimates, 13.7 million civilians were murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators.

The French-Lithuanian falsification of WWII history by SBS

On 8 February, SBS aired the film The Anti-Soviet Fighters (French-Lithuanian co-production), which is built entirely on lies and a cynical falsification of history.

Members of the “Forest Brothers” armed gangs are portrayed as heroes who “waged a decade-long fight against Soviet control in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia”.

In fact, the core of this “movement” was composed of former military personnel of the Baltic states belonging to the territorial SS battalions. They were involved in bloody crimes against civilians. The Nuremberg Tribunal designated all persons officially admitted as members of the SS as criminals.

According to official figures, between 1944 and 1956, the “Forest Brothers” killed more than 25’000 people in Lithuania, including over 1’000 children (52 of them were under the age of two), more than 2’000 in Latvia and 800 in Estonia. The overwhelming majority of the victims were local common people who supported the Soviet authorities or simply refused to assist underground bandit formations.

❗️This film is an attempt to brainwash the SBS audience, revise the outcomes of the Nuremberg Tribunal and glorify murderers depicting them as “freedom fighters”.

Rewriting the history of the Second World War is a dangerous path to revival of Nazism and to tragedies which must never be repeated.

Firebombing of Königsberg by the British Air Force in 1944

We present a translation of an extensive historiographic article “Why the British bombed Königsberg asunder?” by Stanislav Pahotin. Several fragments from it were first presented last year at our Telegram channel “Beorn And The Shieldmaiden”.

On the night of August 27 and 30, 1944, the British Air Force carried out a raid on Königsberg, which resulted in the deaths of over 6,000 civilians and the destruction of the city’s historic center. These raids have sparked much debate among historians and experts, who have raised questions about the effectiveness of the carpet bombing of Königsberg, the Hintertraugheim district, and the Rosgarten district.

Questions without answers

On the night of August 26-27 and August 29-30, 1944, the British Royal Air Force carried out bombing raids on Königsberg. There are bombings during the Second World War that are known all over the world, such as the bombing of Stalingrad and Dresden. The bombing raids on Königsberg, on the contrary, remain little known to the general public. If you ask the question of why the Royal Air Force bombed Königsberg, then it will not be difficult to answer it. The Second World War was unleashed by Germany. Britain fought against Germany, led by the National Socialists, and was an ally of the Soviet Union, the United States, and other countries. There is no doubt that the struggle was against a misanthropic ideology. Based on this, we can answer the question “Why?”. Because it was a German city, because Germany was under Nazi rule and Britain was fighting against the Nazis.

But why did the British Air Force bomb only the historical center of Königsberg, and not train stations, barracks, port facilities and other military installations? Why were the raids carried out at a time when the Red Army was already on the outskirts of the borders of East Prussia?

480 tons of aerial bombs

Let’s turn to the well-known facts. The first bombing raid on Königsberg took place on the night of August 26-27, targeting the northeastern parts of the city, including Hintertraugheim and Rosgarten. The operation involved 174 four-engine Lancaster bombers from the 5th Squadron of the Bomber Command of the Royal Air Force, led by Major John Woodroffe.

Approximately 480 tons of ammunition were dropped, with one-third being fragmentation bombs and two-thirds being incendiary bombs. The Supreme Commander of Bomber Command, Sir Arthur Harris, considered this ratio necessary in order to arrange a real fire tornado in the city and thus destroy the maximum number of inhabitants. He is often referred to as Bomber Harris, but the pilots nicknamed him differently: Butcher Harris, perhaps because they realised the consequences of his orders.

During the first bombing, about a thousand Königsbergers died. The second raid, which involved 175 Lancaster bombers and dropped 480 tons of ammunition, took place on the night of August 29-30 and resulted in the destruction of the entire central part of Königsberg, including its historic neighbourhoods. These include Altstadt, Kneiphof, and Lebenicht, the Royal Castle, the Cathedral with its Wallenrod Library and many cultural treasures, the old warehouse districts of Lastadie, the beautiful Baroque churches of Königsberg, the old university, its new building on Paradeplatz, the opera house, the famous Grafe und Unzer bookstore, the city’s historical museum, which housed many exhibits related to Kant (displayed in four rooms), and the state library with its valuable first editions. It was all destroyed. About 5,000 people were killed in the raid, but the exact number of deaths has never been determined.

‼️ Konigsberg is just one of 131 German cities that were destroyed by British aircraft in a similar way between March 1942 and April 1945.
