“What do English, French, coming with war against us, want?” – The start of the “Civil” war in 1918

The map shows countries participating in the so-called “civil” war of 1918-1922. The total number of the interventionists counted over 1 million soldiers.

The beginning of military intervention against Soviet Russia

On March 6, 1918, an English landing force landed in the port of Murmansk from the cruiser “Glory”. The open military intervention by the Entente of Russia began.

On March 14, the British cruiser “Cochrane” arrived in Murmansk with a new detachment of interventionists.

March 18 – French cruiser “Admiral Ob”.

The Americans joined later: on May 27, the American cruiser “Olympia” entered the Murmansk port, from which a detachment of American infantry soon disembarked.

The topic of foreign intervention against Soviet Russia in 1918-21 has been completely cast out of sight, completely “blurred”, and sometimes even disputed. There is practically no mention of it in the modern media.

This intentionally or unintentionally creates the myth of the Civil War as a war exclusively between “Whites” and “Reds.” Which is obviously a manipulation.

So, shall we remember who supported the “Whites” against the “Reds” with their manpower and equipment?

12. 🇷🇸 Serbia – “Serbian Battalion”. The North of Russia.
13. 🇫🇮 Finland – Karelia. The Karelian and Murmansk legions, created by the 🇬🇧 British.
14. 🇩🇪 Germany. Ukraine, the Baltic States, part of European Russia
15. 🇦🇹🇭🇺 Austria-Hungary. (Germany’s ally)
16. 🇹🇷 Turkey (the Ottoman Empire). Transcaucasia.

🇨🇿 We can also recall the Czechoslovak Corps, which became the trigger of the Civil War.

In total, more than 20 countries took up arms directly or indirectly against the young Soviet Republic. Do not forget that the “Whites” were also fully funded by the Entente.

It was no accident that Stalin was saying, “The so-called Civil War”.

He’s sticking in his aircraft carrier nose

With the USS Abraham Lincoln lined up against Iran, let’s take a look through Soviet satire at the continuous US ‘meddling in Iranian affairs’ before returning to the latest update on the situation in the Sea of Oman.

The caricature by Yu.Cherepanov in the Soviet satirical magazine “Krokodil” issue №4 from 1979 illustrated this news:
“In the American government circles and in the Pentagon, they discuss various options for interference of the USA into the domestic affairs of Iran.”

✍️ The title of the caricature is an untranslatable pun, which forms the basis for the drawing: “Aircraft carrier” in Russian is “Avianosets”, while “nose” is “nos”, which gives an image of an “AviaNOS” — an “air-NOSE-carrier”. The word above the keyhole is “Iran”.

Liberation of Bulgaria in 1878. With a prophetic essay by Fyodor Dostoevsky from 1877.

On March 3, 1878, the Treaty of San Stefano was signed in a suburb of Constantinople, recording our country’s victory in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.

Under the terms of the Treaty, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro gained full independence, while Bulgaria, which had been under Ottoman rule for nearly 500 years (!), was granted broad autonomy.

The date of the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano became a national holiday in Bulgaria – the Day of Liberation from Ottoman Rule.

The victory of the Russian forces in the war against the Ottoman Empire and the conclusion of the Treaty laid the foundation for future constructive cooperation between Russia and Bulgaria. For a long time, relations between our countries developed steadily and progressively.

History Of Diplomacy: A key role in the conclusion of the Treaty of San Stefano was played by the distinguished Russian diplomat and statesman Nikolai Ignatyev, who for more than ten years served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Empire to the Ottoman Empire, and signed the Treaty on behalf of Russia.

The current government is pursuing an openly Russophobic policy, continuing to dismantle the foundations of bilateral cooperation. The fairy tale hour of Western historians regarding Stalin has many chapters, much rubbish and black myths have been piled over his name. The period of the purges of 1937 is one such area. It was later inflated by Solzhenicin’s imagination to come up with outlandish numbers of “Stalin’s victims”.

The Plenary Session from 23.02.1937 to 05.03.1937 and the Beginning of the “Great Terror”

Stalin proposed a very extensive and detailed program of reforms to the plenary. The goal was to set aside everything that happened during the civil wars and subsequently during the outbreaks of class struggle, including collectivisation. The most urgent economic problems were to be solved, and the focus was to be on building the nation and uniting the people.

The head of the Human Rights Council will write an economics textbook without “myths about a flourishing democracy”

Finally, the honeymoon with the liberal democracy is drawing to a close in Russia, and a more pragmatic, reality-based approach is prevailing! This article was published in the Russian economics newspaper RBC on January 12, 2026.

Valery Fadeev became the editor of the textbook on economics for universities “without excessive mathematisation”. He says that there will not be a lot of formulas, myths about free-trading, but Glazyev and Stalin will be there.

The proposal to lead the work of a group of authors and become the editor of a new textbook on economics for higher education institutions was received by the head of the Human Rights Council (HRC) from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the spring of 2025, Chairman of the Presidential Human Rights Council, former editor-in-chief of Expert magazine Valery Fadeev told RBC. The textbook will be intended for students of non-core universities, primarily for sociologists, political scientists and historians.

The new 350-400-page textbook will be called “Essays on Economics and Economic Science.” “This is the first time, we need to find the teaching methodology, so we decided that it would be wrong to call this the final textbook. Essays are a more free genre, they do not require completeness,” says Fadeev.

Two teams are working on the textbook — from the University of Finance and St. Petersburg State University. According to Fadeev, the work is in its final stages, and teaching according to the new textbook may begin as early as next academic year.

The main task is to show students the overall picture of the complexities of the economic system, Fadeev told RBC: “The economy cannot exist separately from social and political systems. Our task is not to refute anything, not to expose liberalism. Liberalism is just too narrow. Our task is to show to the students the fullness and complexity of life.”

Fadeev explains his choice as an editor by saying that in this work “elements of audacity are needed.” “Education is a very conservative field. And in order to seriously move something there, you need some kind of arrogance, in the good sense of the word. It’s more difficult to do this from the inside, so it just so happens that I’m doing this,” he told RBC.
