On the brink of WWIII. Will NATO push for it 76 years after the NAZI defeat?

One of my first posts on this blog was Is the West gearing up to invade Russia once again?, which looked at some historic parallels from the previous pre-invasion periods, and noticing some similarities. The article was written in June 2014, and the rhetoric question is still very much valid, even more so after the developments of these past 3 weeks.

The reports are worrying, with Ukrainian forces executing one provocation after. A few days ago a 5-year-old child was killed when Ukro-nazis dropped an explosive charge on a residential house from a drone.

And now With tensions rising in Donbass, Ukraine pulls out of Minsk peace talks: Kiev refuses to meet Russia & OSCE in Belarusian capital

Yesterday, Paul Robinson, a professor at the University of Ottawa, in his article Reports of Russian troops ‘massing’ near Ukraine miss the mark: Russia-Ukraine war is possible, but only if Ukraine strikes first echoed the conclusions in Rostislav Ischenoko’s article “On the edge: Who will blink first?”, which I am translating in full below.

The situation in the long-suffering Ukraine (without any irony to the country and its people) is developing in such a way that it can be stated that the parties interested in the, possibly armed, conflict have completed the pre-war preparatory measures, at least in the diplomatic sphere. After that, either someone has to give in, or the next step forward means war.

At the same time, Russia cannot have a “large—scale” war with Ukraine – they are in different weight categories. Ukraine is not even able to conquer Donbass. Kiev’s participation in a direct military clash with Moscow, even as part of a group of states, will mean for Ukraine an almost instantaneous destruction as a political entity.

At the same time, Ukraine acts only as a provocateur of the first strike. Its task is to somehow signify to the world community Russia’s participation in the military conflict.

Next, the United States intends to unleash a European war, with the participation of at least a few Eastern European countries, members of NATO and the EU. This will allow them to put pressure on their Western European allies, who do not want a conflict with Russia, demanding that they decide: if they are with Moscow or with NATO.

Newsflash: Russia tries to stop the looming West-instigaed all-out war in Donbass

Just in on RT!

Kremlin says situation in Donbass ‘frightening’ as Ukraine calls on NATO & Washington for support in event of conflict with Russia

Moscow has warned that fighting is escalating in eastern Ukraine, insisting that the region must avoid a full-scale conflict, as Kiev asks NATO to step up its local combat readiness and says the US would come to its aid in a war.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that a series of military clashes in the Donbass region was a cause for concern. “Unfortunately for us,” he said, “the reality on the line of contact is quite frightening, and not just one, but many, provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are taking place.”

Moscow warns of ‘measures’ against any Western troop deployment in Ukraine, as Kiev cites guarantees of US support in a conflict

Russia has warned that it would regard any deployment of Western troops in Ukraine as a serious provocation, after Kiev asked NATO to step up its local combat readiness and claimed the US would come to its aid in any future war.

On Friday, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry issued a statement saying that it had received guarantees of American support after a telephone call with Washington’s top military official, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austen. “The US Secretary of Defense stressed that in the event of an escalation of Russian aggression, the United States will not leave Ukraine alone,” the Ministry said.

Asked about the prospects of a standoff in the region, Peskov warned that this could begin a potentially dangerous chain of events. The Kremlin official said that “undoubtedly, such a developing scenario would lead to a further increase in tensions near Russia’s borders. Of course, this will require additional measures from the Russian side to ensure its security.”

The Post-Ukrainian World – The Final Warning to Ukraine’s Handlers to Stop the Looming War

I’s been a while since I looked in the direction of Ukraine on these pages, and, more specifically, at the civil war that Ukraine wages on its citizens for 7 years, calling the whole population of the eastern republics for terrorists, including children, and treating with constant artillery shelling, terror bombings, denial of basic human rights, etc. This conflict was largely frozen with only occasional escalations and “only” a few civilians killed by the Ukrainian shells each day (the current death toll is close to 12000 people among the civilian population of Donbass). All this to a complete silence from the “humane, democratic, freedom-loving” media in the West.

The situation is about to change. Kiev is amassing troops on the borders with both Donbass and Crimea (not reported in the West), and Russia responds in kind, increasing its military capacity there (trumped about in the Western press). Russia has asked Germany and France (and, indirectly, the US) to curb their Ukrainian puppets, but the pleas have fallen deaf ears. The final warning was the summit between Putin, Merkel and Macron.

I am translating below an analytical article, highlighting the results (or lack thereof) from that summit. The article is written by Rostislav Ischenko on Cont platform: Мир без Украины

The World without Ukraine

Video conference in the format of Putin / Merkel / Macron took place anyway, and this is good news. Nothing else can be called as “good” about this.

The MH-17 Farce Continued in the Netherlands

It has been a while since I returned to the topic of MH-17 downing in Ukraine when it was established that It was a Ukrainian BUK missile that shot down MH-17. A bizarre case where the most likely culprit – Ukraine – sits among the judges, while a bystander – Russia – is being accued of the wrongdoing without any evidence, while any factual evidence not in line with the Russia-bashing narrative is dismissed.

Russia has had enough of this Western charade and is exiting the three-way talks, for wich the Russian ambassador to Netherlands have been summoned: how come Russia refuses to be the West’s favourite beating-boy!

Six years after MH17 tragedy, Russia withdraws from ‘pointless’ investigation consultations with Netherlands & Australia

Russia’s Foreign Ministry believes it’s “impossible” for Moscow to continue consultations with the Netherlands and Australia on the 2014 downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, as they are not interested in uncovering the truth.

Instead, in a Thursday morning statement, Russian diplomats accused the two countries of seeking only to blame Moscow, and arriving at the process with a preconceived outcome.

It added that Russia agreed to trilateral consultations two years ago, hoping that these would help establish, based on hard facts, the true reasons behind the 2014 tragedy. The Boeing 777 crash, which occurred six years ago, during the hot phase of the war in Eastern Ukraine, took 298 lives, with 193 victims from the Netherlands and 27 from Australia.

But, according to the ministry, the Dutch and Australian governments had other goals in mind, as they only wanted “Russia to be declared the guilty party and compensation paid to the relatives of those that died,” the statement outlined.

A very good Op-Ed by Neil Clark dives deeper into the background for the withdrawal:

Plane bias: Russia’s decision to quit MH17 panel a logical result of Dutch provocations

Russia’s decision to quit the three-sided consultations with the Netherlands and Australia on flight MH17 is not surprising. It’s surprising that Moscow hasn’t done this earlier, having been declared guilty from day one.

Almost as soon as the terrible news came out on 17th July 2014 that a passenger airliner had come down over eastern Ukraine with the loss of all 298 people on board, the fingers of blame in the West were pointing at Russia, and the Kremlin was declared guilty until proven innocent.

‘Putin’s Missile’ was the headline of the Sun newspaper, implying that the Russian President had personally fired the missile which allegedly downed the airliner. ‘MH17: Can Russia be held to account?’ asked The Economist – again implying it was a foregone conclusion who was responsible.

Russia’s guilt was already established – before any inquiry was held – and even saying ‘let’s wait a while before we see more evidence’ could bring you under attack as part of ‘Putin’s lie machine.’

That has more or less been the case ever since.

Let us hope that for the sake of the relatives of the victims – and for the justice to be served – the real perpetrators of this downing are uncovered.

The Great Patriotic War in Ukraine. A historical retrospective by Rostislav Ischenko

The following article by a Ukrainian politolog and historian in exile Rostislav Ischenko provides a much-needed context for both the current proliferation of Nazism in Ukraine, and the Banderite phenomenon of WWII.

The Great Patriotic War in Ukraine

by Rostislav Ischenko, published 09.05.2020 on the portal Ukraina.ru and at the open blog platform Kont.

It is sometimes said that the war started earlier for Ukraine than for the rest of the USSR. Thinking of the fact that when Hitler attacked Poland, the Western Ukrainian and Western Belorussian lands were part of the latter and thus also came under attack

German checkpoints
German checkpoint

This, however, is not entirely true. By the way, this interpretation of events has almost got no traction in Belorussia. And this is logical. The fact is that the German troops attacking Poland did not advance further than the Brest-Lvov line. Serious fighting was only for Lvov over the course of 2 days. After defeating the Polish group that retreated to the city, the Germans abandoned the city, which the Red Army entered, and it, along with all the Western Ukrainian territories, was annexed to the Ukrainian SSR.

If anyone in Ukraine entered the war on September 1, 1939, it was Ukrainian nationalists who opposed the Polish state on the side of Nazi Germany, just as they sided with Hitler against the USSR on June 22, 1941.

This difference between the Western Ukrainian territories and the Ukrainian SSR, the Belorussian SSR, and even the territories of Western Belarus (which were part of Poland before 1939) was well understood by Hitler. The Nazi dictator clearly understood the mentality of the peoples who inhabited the UkSSR much better than his generals and party bonzes. Let’s see how he administratively divided the occupied territories of the USSR.

Criminalisation and persecution of St.George Ribbon in Ukraine: why the Ukro-Nazis are after the centuries-old symbol of Russian heroism

This post is a translation of an article by a Ukrainian politolog and historian in exile Rostislav Ischenko. The translation will be supplemented with commentary, references and images added by yours truly. This is an important reading to understand the symbolism and history of St.George ribbon – “Georgievskaja lentochka” in Russian.

Two years ago Lada Ray published an extensive article on the topic: The Importance of Victory Day, The Immortal Regiment, St. George Ribbon – AND GLOBALIST PLAN FIASCO!, and since then the situation in Ukraine has only gone from bad to worse.

And now, without further ado, the article:

Anton Drobovich against St.George

by Rostislav Ischenko, published 05.05.2020 on the portal Ukraina.ru and at the open blog platform Kont.

On the eve of the Victory Day in Ukraine, as it happened before, there is an increased activity among the nationalists who indict how to “properly” celebrate the holiday. Naturally, leading them all is the Institute of National Memory, the head of which, Anton Drobovich, zealously continues the work of his predecessor Vladimir Vyatrovich to eradicate the memory of the great Victory from the citizens of Ukraine. [Translator note: the naming of the “institute” is the direct nod to Orwell’s “1984”]

NEWSFLASH! A former Ukraine SBU operative sheds light on the dark doings of CIA-backed Ukraine junta

This newsflash is a partial reprint of Lada Ray’s article BOMB! Ukraine SBU Operative Defects to Russia, Spills All re. CIA Terror Training, Zakharchenko Assassination & MH17. The full free article can be read at Lada’s Patreon site.

URGENT! An operative of Ukraine SBU, Vasily Prozorov, defected to Russia. During his RIA Novosti press conference he outed a number of the Kiev government secrets, some of which confirm earlier media reports.

Here’s video with some info (Rus) on the topic, incl. Medvedchuk’s reaction (See previous report on who Viktor Medvedchuk is: UkraineShiftUnderway Report! Defying Kiev, Ukraine Presidential Candidate Meets in Moscow with PM Medvedev + Russian Passports for People of Donbass).

Among other things, ex-agent revealed the knowledge by SBU and Poroshenko of the MH17 downing and Odessa Massacre of May 2, 2014. He also revealed SBU secret torture prisons for dissidents in Donbass. Also confirmed: SBU routinely hires criminals released by the Kiev junta from jail, to perform its dirty work.

Moreover, he confirmed that the assassinations of the Donbass commanders Givi and Motorolla were terror acts orchestrated by SBU on direct orders from above. He confirmed that the head of DNR Alexandr Zakharchenko was also killed by SBU.

The most damning piece of intel was Prozorov’s revelations about the involvement of the CIA. Per Prozorov, the US is deeply involved with SBU, specifically, in training SBU how to perform terrorist acts in Donbass, Crimea and Russia. He also revealed that CIA operates multiple secret facilities all around Kiev and Ukraine. CIA instructors are everywhere and SBU operatives follow their direct orders.

Since 2014 Russian FSB deflected hundreds of attempted terrorist attacks by SBU, primarily in Crimea, but also on mainland. Not a single one succeeded. This man, Vasily Prozorov, and others like him, may have been the source of intel that helped avert the attacks!

Five Years Later, the Crimean Scythian Gold Worth $4 Million May Fall into Poroshenko’s Hands

In a twist of fate, just as Crimea returned to Russia after 25 years of Ukrainian oppressive rule, Crimea’s most precious collection of Scythian gold was on tour in European and promptly became arrested by Holland. It is in Holland still, despite several Crimean Museums’ ownership of the collection. After the first hearing in 2016, Holland awarded the golden collection to Ukraine. The decision was appealed, and is now coming for a near hearing in Holland. The following article in Argumenty i Fakty from 12.03.2019 is about this.

The gold that got stuck.
Will Poroshenko get the wealth of the ancient Scythians?

The second trial, which will decide the fate of the exhibits of the Crimean museums, started in Holland.

Hearings on the case of the “Scythian gold” began on March the 11th in Amsterdam. In 2014, it was taken from the Crimean museums to an exhibition in Amsterdam. After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the Ukrainian authorities demanded to return the exhibits to Ukraine. In 2016, the district court of Amsterdam ruled in favour of Kiev. Crimean museums have filed an appeal, which will now be considered in court.

Aif.ru answers the main questions about the upcoming process.

What are these gold artefacts?

In February 2014, when Maidan was raging in Kiev, the exhibition “Crimea: Gold and Secrets of the Black Sea” was opened in Amsterdam. It collected the best exhibits from the ‘Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine’, ‘Kerch Historical and Cultural Reserve’, ‘The Central Museum of Tavrida’, ‘Bakhchisarai Historical and Cultural Reserve’ and ‘The National Reserve “Tauric Chersonesos”‘. Amsterdam became another point in the Museums’ “tour” of the collection: before Holland they were exhibited in Bonn, Germany.

The exhibition told the story of the Scythians, an ancient nomadic people who from the VIII century BC inhabited the steppes between the Danube and the Don, including the Crimea. The history of the Scythians is told in a large number of written sources by various ancient authors, especially Greek, because the Scythians lived next door to numerous Greek colonies on the Black Sea coast (one of them was the famous Crimean Chersonesos).

Archaeologists still find artefacts of the Scythians all over the Northern Black Sea coast in the burial mounds in which the nobility and commoners were laid to rest. Most of the “tombs” were looted long before the scientists came to the scene, so it is very rare to find untouched graves. However, those burial grounds that the robbers could not reach, contain many valuable artefacts, including gold, which the Scythians associated with Royal power and eternal life.

Why is this collection valuable?

In total, the exhibition presented 1071 items from Crimea: weapons, jewellery, various products and household items. The total cost of the exhibits exceeds $4 million.

There are unique historical artefacts among the items currently held in Holland. For example, the sculpture of the snake-goddess, which was sent to the exhibition from the Kerch Museum. It was discovered in the XIX century and then gave rise to a sensation. Herodotus wrote that the Scythians descended from the union of Hercules with the serpentine virgin. For a long time it was believed that the ancient Greek historian himself came up with this myth, but the discovery proved that this legend was popular before Herodotus.

The pearl of the collection were the Chinese lacquered boxes, presumably made in China in the I century AD. They were found in one of the burials. How the boxes got to Crimea is not quite clear, but it shows the extensive connections of the peninsula, which was at the crossroads of trade routes between the West and the East.

Why did the court of Amsterdam decided to give the gold to Ukraine?

The host states signed contracts with two parties: the museums representing the collections and the Ministry of Culture of the country that sent the exhibition. Then it, naturally, was Ukraine. Since the annexation of Crimea changed the jurisdiction of museums, there arose a dilemma: who to return the exhibits to? To the museums with which they signed the contracts, or to the country which they belonged to before?

The Ukrainian authorities insisted that the exhibits could not be returned to the “occupied territory”. The Crimean museums answered that artefacts, which they provided, were found in the territory of the peninsula, and must therefore be returned there.

In December 2016, the district court of Amsterdam ruled that all exhibits should be transferred to Ukraine, as “only sovereign states can claim cultural heritage”. Commenting on this decision, the General Director of ‘The Central Museum of Tavrida’ Andrey Malgin told “AiF” that in this case they preferred to prioritise the right of the state property. “But there are also norms of ethics, scientific norms. I am sure that if the case concerned a Western European Museum, such important concepts as the unity of the museum collection or the right of the museum to the operational management of artefacts would have surfaced. They would have also remembered that our museums are older than the state of Ukraine, that we kept these items, that they, ultimately, belong to the land from which they were extracted”, — said Malgin.

What can happen to the appeal?

The Crimean museums have filed an appeal against the decision of the Amsterdam court. Now the fate of the exhibits will be decided by the Dutch court of appeal. The trial may be delayed for another two months. First, the court will hear the arguments of the parties, then it will have 6 weeks to make a decision. If it is in favour of Kiev, then the President of Ukraine elected this spring (and at the moment Petro Poroshenko has a good chance to keep his post) will receive a generous “gift” from the West on the occasion of his inauguration.

But until the trial is completed, all items from the Crimean collection will still be in the Netherlands. “This process is slow. But hope is always there,” said Aifi Malgin.

Newsflash: Another provocation is being prepared by Ukraine for the end of December

Following the Ukrainian botched provocation in the Kerch strait, the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev is gearing for a new round of provocations on the Russian border.

This information comes from the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and should thus be viewed as highly verified.

In the press conference below, Lavrov underlines that any such provocation will fail to entice a war between Russia and Ukraine, which the Western handlers of the Kiev regime so desire.

More details in the following reportage about how Donbass is preparing to fend off the imminent offensive from the Nazis.

Major Ukrainian Military Provocation in the Kerch Strait

The provocation that many have been anticipating after the EU’s Mogerini earlier basically hinted to Proshenko that he should stage something in the Sea of Azov (the inner Russian/Ukrainian sea), has now taken place.

The Ukrainian vessels breached the accord of 2003 and failing to notify the Russian sear traffic controllers in the city of Kerch plunged on through the strait, thus violating the Russian territorial waters.

They ignored the demands to stop and started dangerous manoeuvres at which point the Russian Coast Guard had to intervene and stop the Ukrainian rouge vessels. Among other things, a terrorist attack on the bridge was feared – the Ukrainian politicians have many times aired the idea of performing a terrorist act on the Kerch bridge.

FSB now published the documents, seized on the Ukrainian vessels, where the captain was ordered to enter the Sea of Azov covertly, taking off all their Ukrainian markers and identifications (in Ukrainian):

Newsflash: Ukraine is amassing troops on Donbass border – preparing for an invasion during World Cup in Russia

Reposting the alert from Futurist Trendcast:

This has been in the works for months and DPR and LPR have been warning that Kiev is preparing an all-out attack against both Donetsk and Lugansk during World Cup 2018 in Russia. I warned about it since last year, too.

Ukraine seem to be now fully prepared to escalate the hostilities from their daily shelling of the residential areas and murder of the civilians to a full-fledges invasion and genocide of the population of Donbass!

Britain Re-asserts Its Support for Neo-Nazism in Ukraine. And the Rise of Malorossian Phoenix!

Graham Philips publish today a news article, which in effect highlights Britain’s re-asserted support for neo-Nazism in Ukraine, a regime that the West installed there in 2014 and which has been comitting cimes against humanity and war crimes in Donbass ever since!

Rank Injustice, Hypocrisy in the UK – The Case of Ben Stimson and Chris Garrett

I’ve written, and made about this case extensively, and for some time. Now, with the imprisonment of Ben Stimson, and media exposure of that, it’s come to wider attention –

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4697734/Benjamin-Stimson-joined-pro-Russian-militia-jailed.html

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/british-man-pro-russian-forces-ukraine-jailed-terrorism-benjamin-stimson-a7842521.html

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-40612229

Interesting that here, the BBC didn’t mention one of the key reasons Ben was sent down, was the BBC’s framing of him –

And in the BBC article, this quote –

Det Ch Supt Russ Jackson, head of the North West Counter-Terrorism Unit, said: “The images of him holding a rifle and wearing military clothing are deeply concerning.

“He has been jailed for the role he played in a violent conflict and I hope his conviction will send a message to all those who are even considering joining conflicts.”

‘Deeply concerning’. It’s interesting that no-one in UK authority finds Chris Garrett, from the Isle of Man, and his actions in the Ukraine conflict ‘deeply concerning’. Chris, joining a neo-Nazi battalion, and killing in its name, troubles no one in British officialdom.

So, while Ben is now doing over 5 years in Strangeways prison, for, as even the police admit, effectively just posing with a weapon. Chris is over on Ukrainian territory, doing much more than posing with weapons. The fates of the 2 men contrast sharply –

In other monumental news, the Federal State of Malorossiya is created and rising from the Western sponsored Ukro-Nazi destroyed remains of the former Ukraine:

Alexander Zakharchenko announces creation of new state

Today, on July 18, the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic held a historic event – the signing of a political declaration on the creation of a new state, which will become the legal successor of ‘Ukraine’. The new state formation will consist of 19 regions of the former Ukraine and be called Malorossiya with the center of the new state in Donetsk. Kiev remains a historical and cultural center without the status of the capital city.

“All of us here are going to talk about the future. We propose a plan for the reintegration of the country through the law and the Constitution. We must build a new country in which the concepts of conscience and honour are not forgotten. We offer the citizens of Ukraine a peaceful way out of the difficult situation, without war. This is our last offer not only to the Ukrainians, but also to all countries that supported the civil war in Donbass. I am convinced that we will do everything possible and impossible,” said the Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.”

“Malorossiya is a federal state with wide autonomy of the regions. The right of regional languages is guaranteed to be preserved, the flag of Bogdan Khmelnitsky is recognized as the national flag,” Alexander Timofeyev cited the constitutional act.

“The state “Ukraine” showed itself as a failed state and demonstrated the inability to provide its inhabitants with a peaceful and prosperous present and future,” one of the points of the political declaration emphasizes.”

Breaking! American military UAV over Donbass! Plus, 3rd anniversary of the MH-17 shoot-down

Today, on the 3rd anniversary of the Malaysian Airlines MH-17 shoot-down over Ukraine, USA made a surprising appearance over Donbass.

Here is a translation of a report from Argumenty i Fakty of 17th of July 2017:

A strategic unmanned aerial vehicle of the U.S. Air Force RQ-4A Global Hawk made on a Sunday a multi-hour reconnaissance mission along the demarcation line in Donbass, Interfax reports.

It is reported that the machine flew from an air base in Sigonella, Sicily and spent a few hours flying at an altitude of about 17 kilometres from north to south along the demarcation line between Ukraine and the self-proclaimed DNR and LNR, but did not cross it.

After the assignment, it left the Ukrainian airspace north of Moldova.

It is noted that the capabilities of the drone allow it to monitor a radius of up to 300 km, so it could monitor the entire territory of Donbass, and also the border regions of Russia.

A UAV like this flew over Donbass

This leads up to questions of what USA are up to – a preparation for an invasion?

In the meantime, the tragedy of the MH-17 shoot-down is remembered, despite the Western foot-dragging in the investigation, and despite the general withholding of information from the public. Back in 2014 I wrote that Russia will do everything that the MH-17 shoot-down is not forgotten and that the responsible for the atrocity would be found and punished.

Rt commemorates the tragedy with the article

MH17 tragedy: Key questions remain unanswered as int’l probe enters 4th year

Three years after Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 crashed in Ukraine, crucial questions about the tragedy remain unanswered as international investigators are tied to dubious theories and seem to pay little attention to data provided by Russia.

Missile type

The JIT concluded that the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was hit by a mid-range missile launched from a Buk air defense system located in area controlled by anti-government forces. The JIT also concluded that the launcher was transported across the border from Russia.
Investigators cited satellite imagery said to have tracked the launcher, as well as open source information, including user-generated videos and social media entries.

Last year, Almaz-Antey, the Buk manufacturer, staged a real-time experiment to examine the impact the claimed missile would have had on the airliner. The mock test revealed major inconsistencies in the JIT theory as the manufacturer concluded that the missile claimed to have brought down the plane is no longer in use with the Russian military.

Almaz-Antey also said the weapon that brought down the plane was likely fired from Kiev-controlled territory.

However, the international team opted to use a “similar” US-made missile to model the impact, though Almaz-Antey insisted it differs significantly from the Buk in critical features, including flight path and other properties.

While Argumenty i Fakty published a Reuters article
about opening of an MH-17 memorial in Holland:
