: : : First of all I canīt see anything on the
: : : netscape palette and the greyscaled one, it's
: : : just black. Probably I have not the right
: : : programmes and computer to see what dwells
: : : behind the black and I will not be able to
: : : invest in new equipment for a long time yet.
: : : Let everyone be able to see.

: : The image I used as a sample and the images in greyscaled/netscape palettes are generally the same. Perhaps you screen is ajusted to a too dark level or I made some errorous HTML coding, I cannot say. Here, at the university, I use quite a number of various terminals, which all manage to display the images correctly.

: : PS. It may also be a trick which your eyes play on you: too bright background around the image may make your eyes not to distinguish the darker image inside.

:
: It is black black black, and no tricks ;-)

: I have a 386 and Netscape Navigator and I am sure
: there are more citizens out there that have the
: same equipments and who cannot afford new "cans".
: This is the main thing for you who create sites
: and wants everyone to access, to keep in mind.

Well, my machine at home is not too powerful either. I myself wss long ago irritated over Web sites wich had too fancy demands. So all the pages/layouts I create can be run on a 286 machines with DOS-Mozaic or 386 machines with Netscape 1.01 if nothing else is explicitely specified.

I also like problem-solving, and the problem you have looks like an interesting one to me. I have some questions, which you can answer via e-mail. What version of Netscape do you run? Do you have less than 256 colour setup (eg. 16)? Is it only the two smaller images that you are unable to view, or is the large image at the top also invisible to you? And last: Try to right-click on the invisible image and in the menu that pops up choose "View Image". What is the result?

And last, but not least it can also be my fault, that I ajusted the images to be too dark.

Nemo.
