The code of the Knight has always been what has set him or her
apart from the rest of the world, for without a code he is no
different than anyone else in the land. The code is what defines
him. Some of the Knights of old pledged themselves to the church
and in the name of the church went on crusades to conqer he holyland.
The Knights of Ladonia are pledged to protecting "the
Homeland of Ladonia and the Monarchy implaced. There
pledge is also to preserve the treasures of the Homeland, the
works of art of our founding father, Lars Vilks. The
Knights of Ladonia are also pledged to spread the word
of "Ladonia" to other suitable candidates for citizenship and of
course to invite to Knighthood those who they feel are
suitable for membership to the Order.
Below is the ancient code commonly used by the Religious
Orders of Knights as well as the non-religious Knights.
I think that it is benificial to all prospective knight
to know some of the history of our ancient "Brother Knights".
The Oaths of the Knight
Chivalry was the strict code knights obeyed to be religious, honorable, and courteous. Chivalry required that knights be brave, loyal, and just, speak only the truth, be fair to their enemies, help people in distress, protect women, and show mercy to the weak and defenseless. To never harm women or children.
The Following are the 10 Commandments of Chivalry, quoted directly from
Ancient documents from the year 1342.
The Oath of the Knight #1. Thou shalt believe what the Church teaches, and shalt observe its directions.
The Oath of the Knight #2. Thou shalt defend the Church.
The Oath of the Knight #3. Thou shalt respect all weaknesses, and shalt constitute thyself the defender of them.
The Oath of the Knight #4. Thou shalt love the country in which thou wast born.
The Oath of the Knight #5. Thou shalt not recoil before thine enemy.
The Oath of the Knight #6. Thou shalt make war against the Infidel (those who attack the weak and the poor) without cessation, and without mercy.
The Oath of the Knight #7. Thou shalt perform scrupulously thy feudal duties, if they be not contrary to the laws of God.
The Oath of the Knight #8. Thou shalt never lie, and shalt remain faithful to thy pledged word.
The Oath of the Knight #9. Thou shalt be generous, and give largesse to everyone.
The Oath of the Knight #10. Thou shalt be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against Injustice and Evil.
The Most Important Knightly Oath -- A knight was forbidden to ever harm a woman or child. He could not stand by and allow a woman or child to be harmed.
This was the code of the true medieval knight.
