In a way you are right, in a way not. After all, there are
definitions of art, like impressionism, expressionism, cubism, classicism
etc. You also have different kinds of art like sculpture,
painting, music, poetry, writing stories and so on.
But the deepest meaning of art, how is that to be defined?
Or, how do you really define if something is art or not?
Do you define it as art when a professional painter etc has done something,
or is art made by amateurs also art? Amateur, by the way, actually
means someone who loves. In that aspect an amateur loves
his/her expressions of art, but that is also the case for a
professional. My point of view is that both are artists.
Shall we then define art by the technical skill the artist shows,
or is technical skill something you do not need? I mean you do.
So, in a way art is difficult to define, in another way you
can define art. I have to do that very often when I go
to exhibitions. Believe me, sometimes I get real problems...
